New Silk Kimono Collection

It’s been a long time coming but I am so proud of my new collection of kimono prints - Reina, Delilah and Delphine.

The inspiration came from the decorative and graphic arts and architecture of the Art Nouveau Movement. I’ve always been attracted to how the artists of this period drew inspiration from both organic and geometric forms in nature. I played with this in particular with Delphine. The peach blossoms in the foreground are swirling organically and the golden gates and the garden that lies beyond have a symmetry to them. I often think of a particular women when designing a new print - especially what colour palette would be most becoming. My muse for Delphine is Cate Blanchett - I think the royal blue silk and the pale peach flowers would look stunning on her.
